Where does the recording go?
Nowhere but your device. There's no server involved at any point — the video is captured and encoded by your browser, held in this tab's memory, and handed to you as a download. Closing the tab before you download it discards it for good, since it was never saved anywhere else.
Can this record my microphone or webcam?
It can optionally include your microphone audio if you check "Include microphone audio" — your browser will ask for mic permission separately. It cannot record your webcam; only the screen, window, or tab you choose (plus that optional mic track) ever gets captured.
Why does my browser ask me to pick a screen or window?
That's your browser's own native picker, required by the Screen Capture API before any site is allowed to record anything. It's a browser and OS-level permission step, not something this site controls or can skip.
What if permission is denied, or I don't see anything happen?
If you cancel the picker or deny permission, recording just doesn't start — you'll see a plain status message here, and you can try again anytime. If your browser doesn't support screen capture at all, this page will tell you that up front instead of the Start button silently doing nothing.
