Good to know
Do my images get uploaded anywhere?
No. Tracing happens with JavaScript running in your browser tab, in a background worker so the page never freezes. Your image never touches a server.
Will my photo turn into a perfect vector copy?
Tracing works by grouping similar colors into flat shapes, so it shines on logos, icons, and simple graphics. Photos come out looking more like a stylized, posterized illustration than an exact duplicate — that's how vector tracing works, not a bug.
What do the three styles do?
Icon / logo flattens the image to a handful of solid colors, best for simple graphics. Balanced is a good default for most images. Detailed keeps more colors and finer edges, at the cost of a larger file.
Is there a size limit?
Very large images are automatically scaled down before tracing to keep things fast. For best results, start with an image that's already reasonably sized rather than a huge original.
